A real substrate must recover the observed Lorentz symmetry and evade orientation/boost constraints, not just imitate a light cone visually.
The next visual experiment should expose the core energy and allowed unwinding paths. If a supposed topological particle can dissolve continuously once boundary conditions are drawn honestly, the image should show it dying.
