CKC CONTINUUM
HISTORICAL DYNAMICAL RECONSTRUCTION · HDR v0.1

Disassemble the verdict.

“Kelvin failed” and “Cosserat survived” are too coarse to be useful. HDR decomposes programmes into source-grounded propositions, dependencies, later evidence, failure modes and possible descendants.

P

Theory is not a monolith.

One implementation can die while a structural idea remains mathematically available. Equally, a surviving mathematical structure does not inherit the abandoned ontology.

Kelvin: keep the question, not the corpse.

FAILED IMPLEMENTATION

Classical vortex atoms

The nineteenth-century programme did not derive real chemistry or spectroscopy, and stability became a central wound.

STRUCTURE SURVIVES

Identity through dynamics

The abstract strategy that localized identity may reside in a persistent field configuration is separable from Kelvin’s literal atom model.

MODERN RE-ENTRY

Topology and quantum media

Modern vortices and topological defects make the generic class physically real without vindicating Kelvin’s atomic identifications.

C

Cosserat: a continuum richer than displacement.

The Cosserat move attaches orientation to local continuum structure. In a modern transposition the state can be written schematically as position plus an orientation field R(x,t) ∈ SO(3). That notation is modern; the structural idea is historical.

Forbidden shortcut: “SO(3) microrotation therefore explains spin-½.” The missing SU(2), quantization, statistics and dynamics are precisely the research frontier.
A

The anti-teleology rule.

The reconstruction is not allowed to converge on CKC because CKC commissioned it. Branches may die, merge, become ordinary QFT in another language, or produce a descendant unlike the preferred model.

Nothing is resurrected by courtesy. Every recovered branch must earn survival again.
